TCHP dies have established themselves in the market as a product with performance that significantly surpasses that of tungsten carbide and competes with diamond, in some cases replacing diamond dies due to diamond’s chemical reactivity with steel.

Utilizing its patented technology, Allomet has created nano-engineered microstructures consisting of extremely hard core particles encapsulated in a tough matrix. These engineered microstructures provide a hardness near that of their ceramic core with a toughness greater than standard carbide materials.

Customers using TCHP dies benefit from 7x and greater increases in die life compared to conventional carbide in drawing high strength steel tire cord, and even higher life multiples in some applications.

TCHP drawing disks are available in all standard ADDMA sizes (D6-D24).

 


 
 
The ability of TCHP grades to maintain high hardness at elevated temperatures is a key benefit that is unmatched by WC-CO dies. This is especially critical in wire drawing where high temperatures are generated by the operating conditions. Sintered TCHP drawing dies will achieve productivity gains through higher process rates and/or longer operating life.
